This is what your next iPhone design could look like
It’snever too soon to speculate on what the next iPhone will look like or whatfeatures it may have. And such speculation is already well underway, never mind
that Apple typically unveils its latest handsets in September, and there’s
little reason to suspect that the timetable will change with the 2019 models.
TheCashKaro.com site out of India has published “iPhone X1” or iPhone 11 CAD-
renders of what it claims is an exclusive look at Apple’s next flagships,
through a partnership with “trusted leaker” OnLeaks.
The
images of the phone show off a triangular shaped triple-lens camera
array, including perhaps a 3D sensor. That would let a shooter switch among
telephotos, wide-angles and even wider wide angles.
The
lenses would sit under a noticeable camera bump on top of the
rear glass back of the phone, at least on the 11 Max model (or whatever it
might be called).

Noted
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuoof TF International Securities predicted earlier in the
year that there would be three new models, with such a trio likely to have the
same or similar screen sizes as the current latest iPhones crop: the iPhone XR
(6.1 inches), XS (5.8 inches) and XS Max (6.5 inches). The displays are
expected to be bordered by narrow bezels and once again sport a notch
on the top of the screen.
The
phones may also carry bigger batteries. And, in this iteration, it
seems Apple is still not ready to ditch its proprietary Lightning port,
choosing it for now over what is fast becoming the standard on other
smartphones, the USB-C connector.
No word
on when there might be a 5G iPhone, but even with the recent peace agreement in
court between Apple and chip supplier Qualcomm, 5G for
Apple’s flagship seems more likely to be a 2020 development.
It may
also be 2020 or well after before Apple might try its own foldable phone on the
public, as Samsung has with its now-delayed, near $2,000 Galaxy Fold device. A recent patent filing suggests Apple
could be working on a foldable of its own, maybe a device that could be a combo
iPhone/iPad of sorts.
Sooner
than that, Apple could borrow a feature Samsung brought with its latest Galaxy
flagships, the ability to charge another device by placing it on top of
the iPhone.
On the
hardware side, meanwhile, between now and September, you can bank on
more Apple leaks to come.
